picnic professionals

No matter the weather, there’s no bad time for a picnic.  We’ll take a breezy day in the park, a cool evening on the beach, or an indoor picnic on the living room floor when the west coast rain is doing its thing – and we’re not alone.

Fort Street’s newest store is Panier Picnic – curators of gourmet food and picnic accessories.  Their little shop is brimming with charming items like patterned paper straws, Weck glassware, and Mason jar mugs – perfect for an afternoon in the garden or just for packing your lunch to the office.  Whether your planning a romantic outing (yes, they have a proposal package) or a unique gift basket for a special occasion, these guys have you covered – complete with picnic location tips and recommendations.  And we love that with an emphasis on supporting their fellow local businesses, the picnic gurus source many of their food products from right here in the city – we spotted goods from Phillips Brewing Company, Silk Road Tea, and Roger’s Chocolates on the shelves.

Here are (just) a few of our favourite Panier Picnic things.

Panier Picnic

1. Mason Jar Sipping Cup (8oz) – $4.50 for 1 or $50 for a case of 12.  2. Mason Shaker – $40.  3. Baby Blue Chevron Paper Straws – $4.50.  4. Wood Platter with Bark – $25.  5. Large Market Tote – $45.
