1. We’re not so good when it comes to plants, so this simple guide to house plants by designlovefest is just what we need to keep our home green. 2. Stacking rings are our latest obsession. catbird makes the prettiest ones and you can get yours at Violette Boutique. 3. Even those of you who don’t have boards and boards dedicated to white dresses and diamond bling will love following White Peony Bridal Boutique on Pinterest. We do! 4. This album. Lord Huron’s Lonesome Dreams is on repeat these days.
Marilyn may think diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but we prefer Labradors and a deep glass of vino over head-to-toe glitter when choosing our closest companions. That being said, even us simple girls need a little frosting. For bling that makes a subtle statement without breaking the bank, Victoria’s newest shop Belljar has won our hearts.
If you want delicate stacking rings, vibrant necklaces, or bracelets that layer, look no further. Belljar is full of tiny treasures under $100, including one of a kind handmade pieces by Five and Two, Son of a Sailor, and Kara Yoo.
Consider us charmed.
Find Belljar at K6-3551 Uptown Blvd., Victoria BC.
The moment we saw the Close to Your Heart pendant we knew it would be a favourite piece for years to come. Handmade by local jeweler Emma Glover, the pendant is inspired by the texture of west coast beach pebbles, and just like beach pebbles (and hearts) no two pendants are the same.
Subtle and worn on a long chain, the heart layers well with shorter necklaces, stones, and different metals. The reversible pendants are available in brightly polished sterling silver, sterling silver with a darkened patina, or bronze.
All of Emma’s creations are hand-crafted and original. We love the west coast character in her work and naturally found a few other pieces we’d like to add to our humble collection. We think the Stacking Water Rings in 18k gold, blackened silver, and bronze are a simple but beautiful everyday accessory, and we certainly wouldn’t mind making a statement with the Ocean Flower in Motion with hand-knotted fresh water pearls.
